Job summary

BRP, headquartered in Valcourt, Quebec, seeks a Finance Analyst for Fixed Assets & Lease CoE to ensure integrity of asset accounting. You will partner with departments as an expert on asset accounting and drive accurate monthly entries and depreciation analyses.

The role collaborates across teams to support SOX controls, forecasting, government credit applications, and CAPEX tooling. Fluency in French and English, plus three years of related experience, are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A CPA designation (or in the process of being obtained) is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or an interest in developing this skill (an asset).
  • Strong proficiency in both oral and written French and English.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to strive for continuous improvement in the performance of your duties.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • The ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze lease contracts to determine accounting treatment and record monthly entries.
  • Review acquisition requests and create projects in the system while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Perform SOX controls related to tasks under supervision.
  • Prepare quarterly variance analyses and provide explanations.
  • Participate in the financial forecasting process and forecast depreciation expenses.
  • Coordinate inventory counts of assets with stakeholders.
  • Prepare analyses to support applications for government credits with the Canadian tax team.
  • Maintain the capital expenditure planning tool and provide support to users.
  • Participate in various ad hoc financial analyses.

Job description

We are looking for a Finance Analyst, Fixed Assets & Lease CoE who will report to the Fixed Assets Team Lead and ensure the integrity and reliability of asset accounting. In this role, you will act as an expert and key partner to various departments.

You’ll Have The Opportunity To
  • Analyze lease contracts to determine accounting treatment and record monthly entries.
  • Review acquisition requests and create projects in the system while ensuring compliance with our internal policies.
  • Perform certain SOX controls related to the tasks under your supervision.
  • Prepare quarterly variance analyses and provide appropriate explanations.
  • Participate in the financial forecasting process and forecast depreciation expenses.
  • Coordinate the inventory count of our assets in collaboration with various stakeholders and ensure that our objectives are met.
  • Prepare analyses to support applications for various government credits while working closely with the Canadian tax team.
  • Maintain the capital expenditure planning tool and provide support to users.
  • Participate in various ad hoc financial analyses.
