About Strescon

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, the New England region of the United States, and Bermuda. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling, and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq.ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick, and 50,000 sq.ft. in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes, and catchbasins.

Responsibilities:

1. Travelling to various locations in NB and NS to weld structural steel, rebar, and other metals.
2. Use of hand grinders and cutting torches.
3. Assist the crew with tasks such as grouting, installation, and other general labour work when not welding.
4. Working at heights is mandatory.
5. Aerial platform training required.
6. Read blueprints.
7. Ability to work with little supervision.

Requirements:

1. Stick Welding - all positions (Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead).
2. Ability to work away from home Monday – Friday.
3. Experience welding galvanized steel.
4. Comfortable completing labour tasks and working long hours.
5. Ability to read blueprints or drawings.
6. Willingness to travel.

Note: The successful candidate will not be working under a Red Seal welder.
