About Our Client: Our client is an established firm with over 90 years of experience in the development and maintenance of municipal water wells and pumping equipment. They are an industry leader providing engineering and contracting services to municipal and industrial clients, including the development, management, and maintenance of water wells, along with supply, installation, and maintenance of well pump systems and lift station pumping equipment.
Project / Field Technician Role:
In this role, you will collaborate with Engineering and Field staff to conduct field activities and produce reports summarizing results for customers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting well inspections and videos at various locations throughout Ontario.
- Processing videos to prepare them for customer review, interpreting and summarizing observed elements, and comparing findings to well records.
- Graphing results from well performance step tests.
- Installing and downloading dataloggers and producing reports on water takings and well activity summaries for submissions to the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
- Assisting in preparing other reports.
- Opportunity for training to conduct well inspections and maintenance activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduates with a diploma in Environmental Studies, Civil, Mechanical, or a degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical).
- Ontario Well Technician Class 5 license is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with well construction and operation, courses in geology are assets.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills is an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience preferred, but willing to train new graduates with the right attitude.
- Willingness to learn, proactive, and capable of problem-solving independently and in a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of standard office software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Ontario as required.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Availability for 40 hours per week.
