Fuze HR Solutions is seeking an Electromechanical Installation Technician for airport/GSE environments in Canada. This field role focuses on installing electrical/electromechanical systems on aircraft ground support equipment and other vehicles, combining hands-on wiring with diagnostics.

You will work 70% electrical and 30% mechanical, travel to multiple airports, and collaborate with customers and technical teams to ensure reliable data, power and connectivity.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of hands-on electrical/electromechanical installation or field service experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.
  • Comfort with running cables, wiring harnesses, connectors and electrical components.
  • Willingness to travel between airport locations and work at various airports.
  • Strong attention to detail and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install telematics and fleet-management devices on GSE and other mobile equipment.
  • Route 12V/24V electrical wiring from power sources to devices.
  • Read and follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Crimp, terminate, solder, and connect wiring harnesses.
  • Test installations for power, data and communication.

Electromechanical Installation Technician - Airport / GSE

Location: Toronto, ON - Airport-Based / Field Role

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Travel: Some travel to other Canadian airports required

The Opportunity

We are hiring an Electromechanical Installation Technician to join a growing Canadian technical team supporting the rollout of advanced telematics and fleet-management technology across major Canadian airports.

This is a hands-on field position focused on installing electrical and electronic equipment onto Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE), commercial vehicles, and other mobile equipment.

The role is approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with wiring, electrical systems, hand tools, vehicles, and technology.

Previous aviation or airport experience is an asset, but not required. Candidates with experience in automotive electronics, telematics, heavy equipment, field service, equipment installation, rail, fleet maintenance, or similar technical environments are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Install telematics and fleet-management devices on Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and other mobile equipment
  • Run and route electrical cables from power sources and sensors to telematics devices
  • Work with 12V/24V electrical systems
  • Install and connect wiring harnesses
  • Connect power, CAN bus, Ethernet, serial, sensor, and antenna wiring
  • Read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and colour codes
  • Strip, crimp, terminate, solder, and connect electrical wiring
  • Secure wiring harnesses to prevent rubbing, pinching, vibration, or damage
  • Mechanically mount telematics devices, sensors, and antennas
  • Use hand and power tools including drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, rivet guns, and torque tools
  • Test completed installations for power, communication, and proper data functionality
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical and installation issues
  • Record serial numbers, device locations, installation information, and test results
  • Work directly with customers and technical teams during installations
  • Complete approximately 2-3 equipment installations per day
  • Travel to other Canadian airport locations when required
What We're Looking For
  • Approximately 1-5 years of hands-on electrical, electromechanical, installation, or field service experience
  • Strong electrical aptitude and comfort working with wiring and electrical connections
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter
  • Experience with cable routing, wiring harnesses, connectors, terminals, or similar electrical components
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to securely mount equipment and components
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems in the field
  • Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with remote technical teams
  • Professional communication skills and confidence working directly with customers
  • Comfortable using laptops, tablets, email, and common computer applications
  • Ability to travel between airport locations when required
  • Ability to successfully complete required airport security clearance

No trade licence is required for this position.

Work Environment & Travel

This is a hands-on field position primarily based at airport customer locations.

Technicians will work around Aircraft Ground Support Equipment and other mobile equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.

Some travel between major Canadian airports, including Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, as well as occasional travel to smaller airport locations, may be required. Occasional overnight travel may also be necessary.
