Job summary

Job description

Are you ready to take your career to the next level and work with one of Canada’s largest environmental remediation and decommissioning firms? QM Environmental is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage exciting and impactful projects.

Contract Duration: 4 - 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Complete erosion and sediment control inspections.
  2. Conduct soil, groundwater, VOC, and air monitoring.
  3. Oversee construction tasks on-site during working hours, including dust prevention, erosion controls, and environmental monitoring at excavation sites.
  4. Collaborate with Site Supervisor and site consultants to resolve environmental issues, following the site-specific Environmental Protection Plan.
  5. Manage administrative tasks such as recording observations, maintaining environmental inspection logs, and managing project resources to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  6. Handle billing, purchase orders, and site documentation including health & safety permits.
  7. Supervise project field data, employee hours, and ensure compliance with QM’s Health & Safety programs.
  8. Maintain strong client relationships to ensure project satisfaction and identify new business opportunities.
  9. Ensure all projects meet industry standards and comply with health & safety policies.
  10. Promote a safe work environment for staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience working on remediation and/or contaminated sites.
  • Knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices.
  • Experience with sampling equipment and techniques for soil, groundwater, VOC, and air monitoring.
  • At least 1 year of project coordination experience, including co-op placements.
  • Experience with construction estimating and reviewing environmental site assessments.
  • Understanding of remediation solutions, contaminated site conditions, and environmental legislation.
  • Experience managing project lifecycle, resources, contracts, and finances.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex environmental challenges, especially in marine or contaminated land projects.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) and financial systems.

Certifications such as Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineer are assets but not required.
