Job summary

Third Space Properties Inc. in Vancouver, Canada, seeks an Assistant Superintendent to help startup and execute a purpose-built rental development.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate day-to-day site activities during mobilization, excavation, shoring, and foundation construction, establishing site operations and project controls. You will support safety, quality, and schedule performance while coordinating subcontractors and field staff, with transition to the Superintendent

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of construction experience in multifamily, mixed-use, or commercial projects.
• Experience supporting excavation, shoring, civil, concrete, or structural work.
• Exposure to wood-frame multi-family construction is an asset.
• Strong understanding of sequencing and site operations.
• Experience using construction management software; Procore is a strong asset.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Project and Excel.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mobilization activities including site setup, logistics, access control, and documentation.
• Assist in implementing project procedures, reporting, and site standards.
• Coordinate utility locates, surveys, and municipal requirements as needed.
• Monitor bulk excavation, shoring, dewatering, and foundation activities.
• Liaise with geotechnical consultants, surveyors, engineers, contractors, and inspectors.
• Track progress against schedules and identify risks or constraints.
• Maintain field processes and quality control; ensure safety compliance.
• Plan and direct day-to-day field activities and subcontractor coordination.
• Maintain site records: daily reports, photos, RFIs, and inspection reports.
• Support transition from excavation to foundation and wood-frame construction.
