AGAT Laboratories Ltd. is hiring a Field Technician for Fort St. John, BC. This entry-level position supports sampling at multiple sites with on-the-job training provided.

You will perform hydrocarbon field sampling, travel as needed, and complete related paperwork. A valid driver’s licence and clean driving record are required, and local residency is preferred.

Field Technician – Fort St John, BC

Wage: $25.00/hr

Job Description

This is an entry-level role which involves working with a partner to gather samples at various sites. For this position, a clean Driver's Abstract and a valid Driver's Licence is required. Prior field service experience is not required as training will be provided.

What You Will Be Doing

• Hydrocarbon Field Sampling (Oil/Condensate, Natural Gas, Water, Emulsion)


• Participate in On-Call schedule; schedule can vary depending on time of year and jobs that need to be covered


• Field sampling jobs may require out of town stay for short periods of time


• Book field jobs and complete associated paperwork


• Field work accounts for approximately 80% of the job

What You Bring To The Table

• High school diploma/relevant technical training


• Out of town travel will be required on a daily basis


• Knowledge of oil field operations


• Strong written and verbal communications


• Mechanical aptitude, experience with a variety of hand tools


• Ability and eagerness to learn new skills and sampling protocols


• Valid driver’s license and a clean driver abstract are required


• Ability to lift 50 lbs is required


• H2S Alive, First Aid with transportation endorsement, CSO would be considered assets


• All training will be provided for the right candidate
