Job summary

INVIRO is seeking a Field Services Inspector to join our Canada-wide inspection team in Scarborough, Ontario. This full-time role involves traveling to visually inspect mechanical (HVAC & plumbing) and electrical systems in ICI buildings, conducting site visits, and providing actionable recommendations based on building codes and specifications.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in the commercial/industrial sector, a valid driver's license with vehicle, and knowledge of the Ontario Building

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial/industrial sector.
  • Able to travel and work flexibly including away from home.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record and vehicle.
  • Journeyman Refrigeration/HVAC (313A/309A) is an asset.
  • Gas Fitter 1 license is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and related legislation.
  • Ability to read, review and interpret plans, drawings, specs and codes.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Physically capable and able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Travel across Canada to inspect mechanical (HVAC & plumbing) and electrical systems in ICI buildings.

  • Read and interpret product specs and building drawings/specs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Travel throughout Canada, to visually inspect mechanical (HVAC & plumbing)/ electrical building systems in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional buildings industry.
  • Conduct and attend site visits including but not limited to site verifications, inspections, and meetings.
  • Analyze, diagnose, commission, and provide recommendations for mechanical/ electrical equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret product specifications and experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs.
  • Apply and adhere to national and provincial building codes across Canada.
  • Provides technical support as requested.
  • Utilize technology tools such as tablets, markup software to review, annotate, and update electrical drawings and site documentation.
  • The ability to complete paperwork accurately in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the commercial/industrial sector.
  • The ability to be flexible with regards to work location and work schedule is a must, including the ability to travel away from home.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record andmust have a vehicle.
  • Refrigeration/HVAC Journeyman certification (313A/ 309A) is an asset.
  • Gas Fitter 1 license is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Building Code Act, and other applicable legislation/construction standards.
  • Ability to read, review and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, codes and by-laws.
  • Experience in setup and maintenance would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software such as Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervision and complete assigned duties accurately and within timelines.
  • Physically capable of performing required duties and ability to work in all weather conditions.

This compensation represents INVIRO’s current anticipated range for this position. Actual compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
