Job summary

Inviro Engineered Systems Ltd. is seeking a Fire Protection Designer in Scarborough, Ontario. The role focuses on design and preparation of fire protection drawings, with NFPA adherence and coordination across disciplines.

The candidate will use AutoCAD, Revit, and HydraCALC to perform hydraulic calculations and ensure drawing accuracy. A post-secondary Fire Protection credential and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/certificate in fire protection or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in fire protection design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and assist in the preparation of fire protection drawings and schematics, adhering to NFPA standards and building codes. Including any required calculations.
• Working experience with Revit, AutoCAD and other applicable software.
• Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
• Perform site investigation to verify the existing site condition, if required.
• Perform general duties as required such as printing, plotting, scanning, conversion, shop drawings, quantity take-offs and measurement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Fire Protection or a related field.
• 3+ years of work experience in fire protection design.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit,and other software programs as required.
• Knowledge of HydraCALC
• Experience with ESFR & High-piled Storage Application is an asset.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as theOntario Building Code (OBC), NFPA standards, etc.
• Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Compensation Range: $60,000 - $85,000 /per annum

This compensation represents INVIRO’s current anticipated range for this position. Actual compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
