Job summary

Wainbee in Surrey, BC is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain mobile compressors and related equipment at customer sites across the Lower Mainland and BC.

Compensation ranges from $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, with wiggle room to $55/hour based on experience. Benefits include a company vehicle, per diem, RRSP with employer contributions, tool allowance, health allowance, training opportunities, and overtime.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of field service, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment experience.
• HD Mechanic, Truck & Transport, Diesel Mechanic, or Millwright certification, or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Strong diesel troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Mobile compressor and rotating equipment experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, mobile compressors, rotating equipment, and related mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems.
• Troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain mobile compressor units in a field service environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, cleaning, and component replacement.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems, including major engine repairs and overhauls when required.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure performance meets manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
• Travel to customer sites to diagnose issues and complete service work safely and efficiently.
• Build strong customer relationships while serving as the company's representative in the field.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and repair documentation accurately and on time.
• Utilize computer systems and service software for reporting and follow-up.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to occasional after-hours and weekend service calls.
