Job summary

RFNOW Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team across Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will install and prepare fiber internet infrastructure, perform final connections to homes and businesses, and support day-to-day operations. This role involves installing cables, media converters, ONTs, switches and routers, and using testing tools like OTDR and light meter.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a telecom installer with troubleshooting skills is an asset.
  • Experience with OTDR and other fiber optic testing equipment is an asset.
  • Networking knowledge and setting up wireless routers and telephone systems is an asset.
  • Must be able to work with customers in a professional manner.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a current, clean driver’s abstract upon hire.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check to RF Now’s satisfaction will be required.
  • Ability to travel to various work sites; some overnight stays may be required.
  • Ability to follow strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

RFNOW is rolling across Southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan and have opportunities available now!

RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals to join our team as a Field Service Technician. The successful candidate will be involved in our day-to-day operations including the installation and preparation of fiber internet infrastructure, making the final connections into households and businesses.

General Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in a residential or commercial setting.
  • Install media converters, ONTs, switches and routers in a residential or commercial setting.
  • Utilize tools such as an OTDR, OFI and light meter for accurate testing.
  • Install CAT5/6 wiring in a residential or commercial setting in a safe, professional manner.
  • Interact with the client or support staff in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner.

Location

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are in the Virden MB area, Brandon MB, Portage La Prairie areas or Saskatchewan areas
  • This position will cover across our entire network, with a primary focus on near the area you live in.

This role will give you the opportunity to work out of your home community. You will be provided with a company vehicle and will be assigned work at various locations throughout the region as required. A company vehicle will be supplied and maintained by RF Now, as well as all required tools will be supplies by the company.
