Job description

Director, Projects & Construction

Build the networks that connect our communities. RFNOW Inc. – Virden, MB

Reports to: Vice‑President, Network, Field & Operations

Type: Full‑time, Permanent

Location: Virden, MB, with travel across our service area

Compensation: Competitive compensation + benefits, vehicle & bonus

Opportunity

RFNOW Inc. is growing, and we are looking for a senior construction leader to take ownership of the projects that bring broadband to homes, businesses, and underserved communities across our region. As Director, Projects & Construction, you will lead the planning and execution of our fiber, fixed wireless, tower, and underground infrastructure builds – the work that keeps our customers connected.

Reporting to the VP of Network, Field & Operations, you will lead our Project Management, Construction, and Field Services teams, set the standard for safety and quality, and partner across the business to deliver capital projects on scope, on schedule, and on budget.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the portfolio. Own end‑to‑end delivery of RFNOW’s capital construction projects – from scope and budget through commissioning and handover.
  • Build and direct the team. Coach and develop our Project Management, Construction, and Field Services groups, building a culture of accountability, safety, and pride.
  • Plan with precision. Work closely with engineering and planning to define specifications, resource needs, schedules, and budgets across multiple concurrent builds.
  • Run safe, efficient operations. Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health requirements, industry standards, and RFNOW’s safety program on every site.
  • Manage materials and equipment. Oversee procurement, fleet, and inventory so crews have what they need, when they need it.
  • Engage stakeholders. Represent RFNOW with municipalities, utilities, landowners, regulators, and vendors – protecting the company’s reputation and our customer relationships.
  • Report and improve. Provide clear, executive‑level visibility on project performance, risk, and opportunities for improvement.
What You Bring
  • 10+ years in construction and/or project management, with 5+ years leading teams and multi‑project portfolios.
  • Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects – telecom, broadband, fiber, wireless, utilities, or similar linear infrastructure is a strong asset.
  • In‑depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, scheduling, and project management principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WPSH/WSH) requirements.
  • Comfort with MS Office and project/construction management software (MS Project, Procore, Primavera P6, or similar).
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • BSc/BA in Engineering, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field is beneficial – we will also consider equivalent field experience.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel across the service area.
Why RFNOW
  • Lead meaningful infrastructure work that directly improves connectivity for the communities we serve.
  • Join a dynamic organization with opportunities to grow and specialize across broadband wireless, fiber optics, network architecture, directional drilling, tower building, and more.
  • Work alongside an experienced, hands‑on leadership team that values practical thinking and strong execution.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a clear seat at the senior leadership table.

RFNOW Inc. is an equal‑opportunity employer. We thank all applicants for their interest; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
