Job summary

Brandt is actively seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Terrace Construction and Forestry location. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy equipment used in construction and forestry, including attachments, while ensuring safe operation and compliance with standards.

The role requires diagnosing issues, ordering parts, using John Deere Service Advisor, and documenting all work on orders. Strong customer service skills and physical capability are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum prior experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Journeyperson certification or equivalent trade designation preferred.
• Strong customer service focus and clear communication.
• Ability to meet physical demands and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently diagnose and repair heavy duty equipment and attachments.
• Disassemble/reassemble units and order required parts.
• Safely use tools, instruments, and related equipment.
• Document all actions on work orders accurately and completely.
• Assess task hazards and ensure work is performed safely.
• Use service software to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Locate and order parts from parts personnel as needed.
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation.

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Terrace Construction and Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
