Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Penticton, reporting to the Surrey branch, to repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment in field conditions.

You will diagnose and repair equipment, document all actions on work orders, and use John Deere Service Advisor and parts catalogs. Brandt offers competitive pay, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement within a large, national company.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy equipment maintenance or repair.
• Journeyperson certification in construction/forestry equipment tech or equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose equipment condition, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and repair equipment.
• Use secondary materials and tools safely and efficiently.
• Utilize instruments, hand/power tools, and computer systems in maintenance tasks.
• Document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
• Assess service task hazards and ensure safe work practices.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogs to locate and order parts.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Penticton, reporting to the our Surrey branch.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestrybasedequipment and attachments in a field environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in theconstruction and forestryEquipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
