Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair our transit fleet, traveling across Canada and the US to support customers. You’ll diagnose, repair, and retrofit diesel, electric, and hydrogen systems while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction. Strong mechanical skills, certification, and willingness to travel 50% are essential.

Qualifications

Five years of experience in field service for heavy-duty transit buses or trucks.
Experience with diesel engines, driveline, electrical systems, and EV maintenance.
Proficiency with shop tools and diagnostic devices.
Certified Truck & Coach Technician (310T) or pursuing; Red Seal preferred.
Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel 50% with a valid passport.
Safe work practices and PPE use.

Responsibilities

Diagnostics and repairs of diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell engines, HVAC, driveline, and electrical systems.
HVAC system maintenance and repair.
Electrical and high-voltage systems troubleshooting and repairs.
Fleet vehicle inspection and certification prior to service.
Mentorship and team leadership for junior mechanics.
Stay updated with industry advancements and integrate new technologies.
