Introduction

We are seeking a Field Service Supervisor to join our Field Service team. You will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of activities related to the repair, maintenance, and installation of mining process equipment. Your role is crucial in maintenance work and requires knowledge of mining equipment. You will report to the Field Service Manager.

This position is mainly located in Sudbury, North Bay, Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Prince George, British Columbia, with flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The role involves up to 80% travel to customer sites.

Team you belong to

You will join a team of Field Service experts committed to the repair, maintenance, and installation of Metso’s mining process equipment. Our team culture emphasizes problem-solving and efficiency. Team members are located in various locations and coordinate with the Operations Team, Manager of Administration/Accounting/Field Service Support team.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare for growth by reviewing detailed scope of work, drawings, procedures, and instructions before field assignments.
• Collaborate with technical support staff to leverage expertise.
• Provide guidance during installation, checkout, start-up, and commissioning phases.
• Coordinate activities with customers and contractors for smooth operations.
• Support execution by maintaining schedules and ensuring timely completion.
• Prioritize safety by guiding crews in safe maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, assisting with corrective actions.
• Recommend operational and maintenance procedures to ensure equipment performance.
• Train customer staff on maintenance and repair methods.
• Document and report field activities, problems, actions, and recommendations.
• Suggest improvements to field methods and efficiency.
• Manage expenses by submitting accurate expense reports according to policies.
• Perform other service-related tasks as needed.
• Be prepared for domestic and international travel.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned.

Who You Are:

• Certified Millwright or equivalent with at least 5 years of field service experience.
• Valid Canadian passport and driver’s license.
• Strong coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills in English (mandatory) and French (preferred).
• Ability to read mechanical drawings in English and Metric systems.
• Familiarity with Metso’s equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including extended periods.
• Capable of handling time-sensitive tasks and working long hours when needed.
• Willing to respond to emergency calls 24/7.
