Eaton’s Electrical Engineering and Services Division is hiring a Field Service Representative to support Kamloops, BC. You will provide field service engineering, testing, startup, maintenance and modification for high/low voltage systems.

This role requires self-management of projects, travel to customer sites, and coordination with engineers to deliver technical solutions. Ideal candidates have a degree in electrical fields and a minimum of five years' experience in electrical distribution or

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical field from an accredited institution
  • Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/Ticket
  • Minimum of five years of experience evaluating/servicing electrical distribution or control systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide field service engineering and technical assistance for installation, startup, maintenance, repair, testing and modification of electrical equipment
  • Conduct tests and calibration using test equipment; ensure compliance with standards
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and provide technical training
  • Deliver technical solutions and schedule/sales support to customers; travel occasional domestic/USA for training

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering and Services Division is hiring a Field Service Representative to join our team. This position will be located out of Kamloops, BC.The expected annual salary range for this role is $93,000 - $117,000 per year, and offers benefits from day one.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The Field Service Representative is responsible for providing field service support and consultation such as acceptance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage systems; advise customers and provide best technical solution to solve the customer issue; complete assigned jobs with assistance from Field Service Representatives and engineers; conduct required tests and calibration using test equipment; check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with applicable standards.The primary purpose of this position is to provide field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on power transmission, distribution and generation equipment and systems.In this function you will:Provide field service engineering, technical assistance, scheduling and sales support direction to customers in areas of installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification of electrical power distribution equipment;Responsible to self-manage assigned projects for electrical equipment; knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.Deliver technical solutions to customers.Performs less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations.Mentor less experienced technicians.Provide technical training.Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Diploma or Degree in Electrical field from an accredited institution/ or Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician Certification/TicketMinimum of five (5) year of experience evaluating and servicing electrical distribution or control systemsNo relocation assistance is provided. This Kamloops-based role requires business travel to customer sites, occasional overnight travel, and travel to the United States for training on safety and Eaton products.Driver’s licence is requiredMust be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship currenlty or in the future.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in protective relays preferred.Experience in performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis preferred.Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable.Skills:Position Success Criteria:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills.Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications.Effective time management, prioritization and project management skillsKnowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.Understanding of the company’s and competitor’s electrical, electronic and mechanical products.Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
