Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Project Manager – Field Service to oversee installation, commissioning, and startup of our HVAC units at customer sites. This hybrid role requires coordinating with contractors to ensure safety, timeliness, and quality, with travel to Canada and the United States.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in HVAC or related fields, strong project management skills, and the ability to read HVAC submittals and drawings.

Qualifications

Position Description

The Project Manager – Field Service will oversee the installation and commissioning of our units at customer sites. This role is responsible for managing site activities and coordinating with third-party contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, experience, and the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment. This is a hybrid role that combines remote work and field-based responsibilities. A minimum of 20% travel is required, including travel to customer sites within Canada and the United States. Candidates must be eligible to travel to the United States and possess all required travel documentation, including a valid passport and visa (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities

• Administer the commissioning and start up processes and procedures, including 1: Develop or modify existing processes and procedures 2: Compile submittals as per contract closeout 3: Support warranty claims during and after installation of units
• Coordinate and/or provide commissioning input related to warranty claims and defects detected during the commissioning process. Collaborate with the QA and manufacturing teams to optimize efficiencies and processes.
• Compile and validate commissioning scopes of work to efficiently manage subcontracted resource plans, including off-site commissioning strategies.
• Attend factory witness tests.
• Manage project activities across remote and field environments to support successful project execution.
• Travel to customer sites throughout Canada and the United States as required to support installation, commissioning, and project delivery activities.

Required Education & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HVAC, construction, field service, or a related industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC equipment and service.
• Proven experience in project management by collaborating with contractors and coordinating across diverse stakeholders to ensure successful execution.
• Superior organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand HVAC submittal packages, electrical drawings, and subcomponent IOM material.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability and willingness to travel minimum 20% of the time.
• Must be eligible to travel to the United States and possess all required travel documentation, including a valid passport and visa (if applicable).

Education Requirements

• Technical degree or journeyman certification is preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
