Field Service Power Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site support, maintenance, and repair services for commercial and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high voltage power systems, with the ability to analyze schematics and troubleshoot complex issues.

Responsibilities

1. Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, and more.
2. Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of motors (if experienced).
3. Use electrical test equipment such as Megger, TTR, Doble, PdMA, and others.
4. Analyze electrical systems and troubleshoot issues effectively.
5. Read and interpret schematics to understand system layouts and operational procedures.
6. Document service activities and generate detailed reports.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be a Journeyperson Electrician with a recognized Canadian certificate.
• Must have experience working with industrial power equipment.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must have a strong understanding of high & low voltage power equipment.
• Must be able to interpret electrical schematics accurately.
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience using Microsoft Word & Excel, and Google products.
• Experience working with motors is considered an asset.
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, soft starts is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with CEC, NETA, and NEMA standards is considered an asset.
