Job summary

Grandchamp Chapiteaux inc. is seeking a Field Sales Representative – Market Development to drive new business and expand our client base. The role involves prospecting, presenting tailored tent solutions, and closing deals with traveling to client sites and trade shows.

You will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing and develop a national and international client portfolio, with a focus on Quebec and beyond. A strong blend of technical understanding and sales acumen is required.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales development or a similar role.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is essential.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally, including to the United States.
  • Valid driver's license and availability for frequent travel.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and business development skills.

YOUR MISSION:

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Field SalesRepresentative primarily serves as a market developer for the company. He orshe is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, activelyprospecting new clients, and closing sales to support the organization’sgrowth.

He builds lasting business relationships, guides clients through thesales process, and collaborates with internal teams to offer solutions tailoredto their needs.

This position focuses primarily on new business development,prospecting, and opening new accounts. Success in this role depends on theability to create opportunities, develop a strong business network, and meetestablished sales targets.

The position involves regular travel outside the office within Quebec,averaging one day per week. Occasional travel outside Quebec is also requiredto meet with clients, attend industry events, or support business developmentactivities. Some trips may require 2- to 3-day stays away from home.

  • Actively prospect for new business: cold calls, field visits, andattendance at construction sites and industry trade shows, both domesticallyand internationally.
  • Develop and maintain a client portfolio on a national and internationalscale.
  • Plan and organize sales development activities independently.
  • Prepare bids with the internal team, follow up on them, and resubmitpending proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to validate client needs and projectfeasibility.
  • Keep information and opportunities up to date in the company’s CRM.
  • Ensure comprehensive follow-up on projects, from prospecting through toproject closure.
  • Monitor the financial parameters of each project, ensuring compliancewith budgets and target margins.
  • Collect and track payments as required.
  • Participate in the analysis and preparation of requests for proposals.

After 3 months - Territory mapped out, first doorsopened

  • You’ve mastered the technical vocabulary related to tents andtemporary structures
  • You’ve built your list of target accounts and know the key players inyour markets
  • You’ve completed your first sales call and met your first prospects inperson
  • You’ve worked with your manager to determine how your time will bedivided between Canada, the United States, and Europe
  • Your pipeline in HubSpot reflects your activities in the field

Your onboarding is successful when you know exactly who to talk to inyour markets, and those people know who you are.

  • You generate your own leads without being provided with lists
  • You propose customized solutions independently and strategically
  • You’re skilled at calculating costs and can quickly assess a project’sfeasibility
  • You understand the realities of on-site installation, which helps youprovide better advice
  • You’ve closed your first sales from accounts you opened yourself

You’re recognized as a reliable advisor who is technically adept andstrong in customer follow-up.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Atleast 3 years of experience in B2B sales development or a similar role.
  • Bilingualism is essential (spoken and written). The position requiresinteracting with English-speaking clients or external partners.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally, including to theUnited States.
  • Valid driver’s license and availability for frequent travel.
  • Ability to understand technical product specifications and translatethem into concrete solutions for clients.
  • High degree of autonomy, strong organizational skills, and the abilityto manage priorities effectively.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long‑term business relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to different business contexts and a diverse clientbase.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and business development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamicenvironment.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work with multiple internal teams.
  • Proficiency with IT tools, particularly CRM systems and the Microsoft365 suite.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. or European market or of an international networkof rental companies (a plus)
