Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support field safety operations and implement the HSE Management System on projects across Canada.

You will help with hazard identification, risk mitigation, incident investigations, and training, while collaborating with Operations and the HSE team to drive a proactive safety culture. The role requires on-site presence, strong judgment, coaching skills, and the ability to coordinate inspections, toolbox talks, and documentation

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline.
• Minimum three years of safety experience in electrical transmission, utilities, civil construction, or EPC environments.
• Working knowledge of BC Hydro HSE standards is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, observations, and audits for HSE compliance.
• Maintain field presence and coach workers on safe practices in real time.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site communications.
• Review permits, SWPs, JHAs, and safety documentation for quality.
• Support investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Assist with WCB claims management and return-to-work processes.
• Coordinate safety training and onboarding for personnel and contractors.
• Maintain organized HSE records and documentation.
