Job summary

Intero Integrity Services is seeking a Field Robotics Operator to qualify, operate, and maintain our fleet of inspection robots. These systems are deployed across North America to support safe natural gas pipeline inspections with advanced technology.

Join the Operations Team at the Toronto Technology Center, perform routine maintenance, generate service reports, and travel up to 70% while adhering to PPE and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel up to 70% across North America.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform PPE-compliant duties.
  • Hands‑on, mechanically inclined with 3D spatial awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect natural gas pipelines by operating robotic inspection systems as part of the Operations Team.
  • Operate, enter and exit large vehicles (e.g. trucks, vans).
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic service on equipment and technologies.
  • Follow procedures and quality control protocols to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Keep areas and tools organized and provide clear communication to Team Lead.

Intero Integrity Services provides inspection, industrial, and environmental services that help operators maintain the safety, reliability, and performance of critical infrastructure worldwide. Toronto Technology Center

focuses on the development of robotic inspection systems designed to operate in challenging pipeline environments where conventional inspection tools cannot be used. Multidisciplinary teams work closely together to design, build, test, and refine these systems in-house.

About the Role

A Field Robotics Operator qualifies, operates and maintains Intero’s fleet of inspection robots. Deployed across North America, our Operations Team delivers inspection services to our clients’ natural gas pipeline infrastructure using exceptional technology in a professional atmosphere. Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of the Operations Team to inspect natural gas pipelines by operating our robotic pipeline inspection systems.
  • Be able to operate, enter and exit large vehicles (e.g. trucks, vans, etc.).
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic service repairs of various equipment and technologies.
  • Follow procedures and quality control protocols to ensure equipment is operating to its maximum potential.
  • Ensure areas and tools designated for service use are kept clean and organized.
  • Provide clear and accurate communication to your Team Lead and fellow team members to promote the success of the operation.
  • Generate various forms of documentation (e.g., Service Reports, Daily Logs, etc.) to ensure proper record keeping is maintained for follow-up.
  • Be ready and willing to take on challenges, to aid your team members in any way you can.
  • Be safety minded – safety comes first.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License (full G).
  • Valid Canadian Passport and ability to legally obtain United States work permits.
  • Availability to travel up to 70% of the time within North America; ability to work non- standard workdays/hours as necessary.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to safely perform all duties of the role while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks and safety helmets, and to participate in PPE testing and assessments (e.g., fit testing).
  • Hands‑on skills, mechanically inclined.
  • Visualize objects in 3D (e.g., spatial sense, read assembly drawings, etc.).
Education and Experience
  • College diploma or University degree in technical discipline.
Considered Assets:
  • Prior experience in Field Operations.
  • Experience with pipeline infrastructures
  • An interest or background related to robotics
  • Troubleshooting experience (mechanical or electrical)
