Job summary

Weatherford seeks a Repair & Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, and downhole tools at our Alberta site. You will perform testing, calibration, and troubleshooting per standards, with opportunities for senior leadership within the R&M team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 0–2 years in Oil & Gas recommended.
• Basic computer skills and mathematics.
• Experience with hazardous materials, radioactive elements, and explosives a plus.
• Awareness of NDT/NDE and ATEX policies and principles.
• Ability to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and monitoring of equipment.
• Strong critical thinking, active learning, listening and problem-solving abilities.
• Good reading and writing skills with sound judgment.
• Time management and quality control analysis skills.
• Ability to diagnose issues with tools/equipment (senior roles).
• Ability to order parts and manage documentation.
• Meet physical demands of the role.
• Travel up to 10% domestic/international.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain and improve service quality through the Quality Management System.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Conduct testing and calibration per documented policies.
• Troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Complete Work Orders, forms and repair requests; maintain databases.
• Lead and mentor R&M team members in senior roles.
• Communicate equipment issues to management and stakeholders.
• Support LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Develop career through required training and manager check-ins.
