Ontario Tech University is seeking a Parking Compliance Officer to safeguard campus parking operations across North Oshawa, the downtown Oshawa campus, and Durham College's Whitby campus. This field-based role requires travel between sites and a customer-focused, rule-driven approach.

Responsibilities include patrolling lots, enforcing permits and payments, assisting drivers, handling escalations, and maintaining logs.

Qualifications

Completion of high school.
Municipal Law Enforcement Officer (MLEO) certification is preferred.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Up to one year of relevant experience is required.
Experience using Licence Plate Recognition technology is required.

Responsabilités

Conduct regular patrols of university and college parking facilities on foot or by vehicle with LPR technology.
Monitor compliance with permits, payments and regulations; issue notices or tow warnings when appropriate.
Identify fraudulent or stolen permits and other parking irregularities.
Support vehicle immobilization and towing processes when required.
Serve as a first point of contact for customers with wayfinding, payments, permits, citations and immobilized or towed vehicles.
Provide clear explanations of parking rules and help resolve routine issues.
Use customer-service and de-escalation techniques in difficult interactions.
Monitor equipment and report safety concerns; coordinate maintenance as needed.
Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
