Job summary

TK Elevator in Canada seeks an experienced operations leader to guide field teams, allocate assignments, and ensure service delivery aligns with contractual obligations. You will oversee onboarding, training, safety, and performance, while fostering strong relationships with property managers and owners.

The role requires deep knowledge of maintenance, modernization, and repair of elevator systems, plus the ability to read technical docs and coordinate with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in the elevator industry (mechanic or adjuster) with supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance, modernization, and repair of technical elevator systems.
  • Proficient with business software and adaptable to new systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field operations, allocate assignments, and supervise field labor to meet commitments.
  • Ensure safety compliance with company policies and provincial acts, investigate incidents.
  • Build and maintain client and contractor relations with property managers and owners.
  • Provide technical guidance and coordinate documentation for quality assurance.

What We Expect
  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to effectively allocate and manage employee assignments. Ensure alignment with contractual obligations, focusing on quality and efficiency in service delivery. Direct and supervise field labor forces and support personnel to drive initiatives to meet or exceed customer service delivery.
  • Employee and Safety Management: Oversee all aspects of employee management, including onboarding, training, coaching, discipline, and termination. Ensure compliance with safety standards as outlined by company policies and the provincial Health and Safety Act. Investigate and address safety incidents to prevent future occurrences. Plan, direct, and coordinate employee assignments through tangible and visual employee performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational expectations.
  • Training and Development: Conduct regular 'Toolbox Talk' meetings and training sessions to enhance team member skills and knowledge to maximize safety protocol achievement and adherence.
  • Client and Contractor Relations: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with property managers, designated managers, and owners. Strive to exceed expectations through proactive communication and collaboration.
  • Quality Assurance & Resource Management: Monitor and evaluate work processes, providing technical guidance or coordination support as needed. This includes both verbal and written communication, as well as the preparation of relevant documentation. Ensure quality standards are met through clear communication, consistent oversight and support.
  • Continuous Learning: Remain current on company processes & elevator technology, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Model organizational expectations through the delivery of clear, concise communication with various stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service delivery
Who We Are Looking For
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the elevator industry (mechanic or adjuster). Prior supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and field operations, specifically, maintenance, modernization, and repair of technical systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry with field experience in elevator maintenance, modernization, or repair.
  • Proven aptitude for essential business software with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical documentation specifications, with strong mechanical and electrical comprehension skills.
  • Experience in people management, including the ability to lead, inspire, trust, and gain commitment from a diverse team.
  • Excellent customer service, project management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, management competition priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Experience engaging with employers, customers, and stakeholders at all levels (internally and externally).
