Job summary

TAQA North is seeking a Field Operations Summer Student for the 2027 work term based in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. You will support Production Technologists and foremen in day-to-day field operations, data management, and field activities, gaining hands-on experience in production optimization and regulatory processes.

The role runs May–August 2027, five days a week, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and practical problem solving in a fast-paced, field environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post secondary educational degree program, preferably in Engineering, Power Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related program.
• Must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.
• Must attach transcript with application.
• Compliance with drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment screening.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license with clean driving record.
• Available to work full-time in Calgary office for duration of 4-month term.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Criminal background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Update plunger lift database and evaluate inspection frequency for downhole assemblies.
• Perform well reviews and follow up on recommendations through to completion.
• Assist Production Technologists with gathering and submitting regulatory data.
• Complete basic CMDS and training to safely assist or execute routine tasks.
• Shadow well servicing operations, pigging, inspections, and log compressor/gas plants.
