Job summary

WSP is seeking a Field Engineer to support a major gold processing facility project. You will link engineering, construction and field execution to ensure quality, safety and technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

This rotational on-site role requires interpreting drawings, guiding construction activities, and coordinating with QA/QC teams while maintaining schedule and cost controls in a mining environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of field engineering experience on industrial construction projects.
  • Mining or mineral processing project exposure is highly valued.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian construction practices, codes and standards.
  • Experience in EPCM project environments is an asset.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced field environments.
  • Willingness to work rotational site schedules in challenging conditions with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering, construction, and contractor activities to support safe and successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance during construction by interpreting drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Monitor field execution to ensure work aligns with IFC drawings and project requirements.
  • Support installation of mechanical, electrical, and civil components across the facility.
  • Resolve RFIs and field changes to maintain momentum and minimize rework.
  • Partner with QA/QC to support inspections, test plans, turnover documentation, and closeout.
  • Track progress, quantities and productivity for reporting and decision-making.
  • Champion HSEQ excellence on site.
