Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - CES) in Nova Scotia, Canada. You’ll perform maintenance and complex repairs on customer owned equipment, ensuring safety and professional service.

You’ll document work orders, assist with pick-up and delivery, and may travel to customer sites. Strong mechanical aptitude and tool ownership are required, with opportunities to advance in the Service

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair diverse customer-owned equipment.
• Document work orders daily.
• Upsell and demonstrate equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs; keep service vehicle tidy.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.

As a Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - CES), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and complex repairs on customer owned equipment in a safe and professional manner. What You'll Do

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex customer owned equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
