Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III) in Fredericton, NB to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You’ll contribute to a high-performing service department and have opportunities for advancement.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, tool ownership, and good communication with customers. You’ll travel to job sites as needed, help train junior technicians, and maintain thorough paperwork while providing

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and engines knowledge.
• Own tools applicable to the position.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair a variety of equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain work orders and documentation daily.
• Travel to customer sites for repairs; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
