As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV - Field Service), you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. You can improve and challenge yourself daily, with opportunities for advancement into higher Service Technician and leadership roles within our Service Department. Like every team member, you will provide exceptional customer service.

Please note that this is an onsite role with a 14/14 shift schedule.

What You'll Do

1. Perform safe maintenance and repair of various complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
2. Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
3. Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
4. Maintain documentation of work performed in a complete and timely manner.
5. Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
3. 3-5 years of experience in repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
4. Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
5. Strong mechanical background with various engines.
6. Own tools applicable to the position.
7. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
8. Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals’ policies.
