Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-level environmental professional to join our Saskatchewan Site Investigation and Remediation (SIR) team. This role involves leading field projects across Saskatchewan and the Prairie provinces, under project managers, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

You will conduct Phase I ESA site visits, soil and groundwater sampling, and reporting following provincial guidelines, with travel to remote sites and long field days. The team emphasizes safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related field.
• Three years of field work experience related to soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapor investigations.
• Ability to travel to remote locations and work up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to obtain federal reliability security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health and Safety Program.
• Create and lead a positive safety culture on all projects.
• Work with Project Managers to develop field instructions and coordinate field scopes of work with Stantec staff and subcontractors.
• Complete SIR field tasks including Phase I ESA site visits, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil vapour sampling, aquifer conductivity testing, and elevation surveying.
• Confidently oversee SIR field activities, including drilling and monitoring well installation, remedial excavations, and other construction tasks.
• Provide training and mentoring to more junior staff as field lead.
• Write technical reports including data analysis and interpretation with Saskatchewan Tier 1 and Tier 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines.
