Ketek Group Inc. is hiring Field Labourers to support field operations across Western and Northern Canada.

You’ll assist with pumping systems, generators, light towers, and heating equipment while following safety procedures and site instructions. Training is provided, and there are growth opportunities within a family-operated business.

POSITION BACKGROUND:

FieldLabourers are vital to the success of projects and it is an entry-levelposition that offers the opportunity for career growth. Duties include generalclean up, providing manual labour, and operating basic hand tools.

CORE DUTIES:

Project /Field

• Assist with themobilization, monitoring, troubleshooting and demobilization of: well pumps, diesel pumps, and electric submersible pumps
• Maintain, repair, install, andservice: generators, light towers, and heating equipment
• Take instruction fromthe Site Supervisor or Site Foreman to ensure projects are completed in a safemanner, on time, and on budget
• Assist with theroutine maintenance and servicing of equipment in the field
• Use, clean, andmaintain the different tools required at the worksite
• Load and unloadequipment by hand
• Perform routineonsite housekeeping duties
• Operate vehicles in asafe manner

ShopOperations

• Receive, understandand execute instructions from Shop Foreman and senior employees
• Clean equipment andtools
• Disassembleequipment, if needed, to thoroughly clean
• Identifyfaulty/damaged equipment and/or defective materials and inform supervisor ofproblem
• Determine the correcttype of tools/equipment to be used for a specific task
• Utilize checklists,inspections, work procedures and safety guidelines to complete tasks
• Complete assignedtasks in a safe, efficient and timely manner
• Perform routinehousekeeping duties in the shop

Other Duties

• Complete all requiredpaperwork on a daily basis, including hazard assessment and Daily Job ControlSheet
• Cooperate withTraining department for scheduling of new/recertification training
• Observe all safetyprocedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
• Ensure all Ketek’swork procedures, policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations arefollowed
• RepresentKetek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and theCorporate Vision and Mission Statements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Required

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driver’sabstract
• High school diploma or GED
• Fluent in the English language (reading, written,spoken)
• Experience working with basic hand tools
• Ability to deal with the public in a positive,courteous, and respectful manner
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequentdemanding deadlines
• Ability to handle changing schedules and priorities,with high level prioritization skills
• Strong work ethic and organizational planning skillswith attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills

Preferred

• Experience towing a trailer
• Experience on oilfield or oilsands sites
• Experience operating a wheel loader and/or skid steer
• Experience in dewatering, well-testing, or watertransfer

Thisposition is defined as Safety Sensitive:

Drug, Alcohol, Back, and Audio tests arerequired prior to commencing employment.

WORKINGCONDITIONS:

PhysicalDemands

• Regularly required tostand/sit, talk/hear, stoop, climb, lift, balance, kneel and use ofhands/fingers to operate tools, machinery and materials
• Moderate to heavylifting (up to 50lbs) may be required
• Use of mechanicalaids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required
• Regular exposure toloud noises and metal particulates - hearing and respiratory protection is providedwhen needed
• Potential exposure toacetylene gas, fumes, oil, and paint residue
• Exposure to sharpedges, pinch points, trip and slip hazards, and blind spots
• May be required towork in high, precarious places that are near moving parts and/or electricalworks or in confined spaces

WorkEnvironment

• Field environment (90%)and shop environment (10%)
• Required to workweekends and outside of regular office hours
• Required to workoutside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and heat

• Required to work awayfrom home for extended periods of time
