Job Details
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, and as directed by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation standards of practice.
- Provide patient/caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics KPIs.
- Communicate and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate in team web-based meetings/training sessions to maintain and enhance professional standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized.
- Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow all health and safety standards as per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- May be required to be on standby/on call to meet service needs.
Experience And Educational Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- 1 year experience with IV initiation required.
- Current registration with licensing body; CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare setting.
- ACLS, PALs, MS, and CVAA certifications, and central venous lines/port experience are assets.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer programs.
- Access to internet connection.
- Knowledge of cell phone use for appointments and communication.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and travel as needed.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Self-directed and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Hold a valid, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contacts with English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
