PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, and standards from the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, either individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and key performance indicators of nursing and clinics.
- Communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments, to meet timelines for appointments and treatments.
- Coordinate with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate regularly in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain professional standards.
- Attend specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within a healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of applicable tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial nursing colleges.
- Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Comply with all health and safety standards as per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other duties as required by Innomar.
- Be available on standby or on call to meet service needs if necessary.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, with experience in central venous lines/ports, are assets.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other relevant computer programs.
- Access to internet connection and a cell phone for appointments and communication.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within designated areas.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Problem-solving and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
