Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Dryden Construction & Forestry location. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and attachments, diagnosing issues, and ordering parts as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, safety focus, and ability to document all work on orders. If you are a journeyperson or equivalent with heavy equipment experience, Brandt invites you to join a company with extensive nationwide reach.

Qualifications

  • Experience repairing heavy equipment and attachments.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair, document actions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent is preferred.
  • Customer-service oriented and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately evaluate working condition of heavy equipment and diagnose issues.
  • Assemble/disassemble equipment and order parts for repairs as needed.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems during service.
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders.
  • Assess service hazards and ensure work is performed safely to standards.
  • Use computer applications (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using catalogs.
  • Road test equipment and verify attachment operation after service.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Dryden Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
