Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Thunder Bay Construction & Forestry location. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

The candidate should have journeyperson status in heavy equipment and be capable of diagnosing, repairing, and testing equipment, with emphasis on safety and customer service. We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment encountered on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance and service instructions.
• Customer service mindset and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently evaluate working condition, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems safely and effectively.
• Document all machine information, actions taken, and time on work orders.
• Assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to standards.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts, and road test equipment as needed.
