Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies seeks a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for its Saskatoon Construction & Forestry location. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment and attachments, with responsibility for safe, accurate service delivery.

Candidate will diagnose, repair, and test equipment in the field, utilize service software, and coordinate parts and documentation to keep equipment operational and compliant.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition of heavy duty equipment and diagnose issues
• Disassemble/assemble components and order parts as needed
• Use tools, instruments, and computer systems for repair
• Document all machine information, actions, and time on work orders
• Maintain safety standards and assess hazards during service tasks
• Use John Deere Service Advisor and other systems to document maintenance
• Locate and order parts from parts personnel and perform road tests

Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Saskatoon Construction & Forestry location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
