Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician at our Lethbridge location. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment and attachments.

Key duties include diagnosing, repairing, and servicing heavy equipment, ordering parts, and documenting all work orders. You will use tools and computer systems to ensure safe, quality service and support the parts team as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment in field or shop environments.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics and work orders.
• Strong teamwork with parts and service staff and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose the condition of heavy equipment and attachments.
• Perform repair and routine maintenance per manufacturer specifications.
• Order parts and document work orders with time and actions taken.
• Test equipment operation and tools after service to ensure proper function.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures during all tasks.
• Use JD Service Advisor or similar systems to document maintenance and inspections.

Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Lethbridge location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
