Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Grand Falls-Windsor is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of construction and forestry equipment and attachments, ensuring machines operate efficiently in demanding environments.

You will diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, document work orders, and perform safety checks. The position may require shift work and involves using John Deere Service Advisor and other tools to support service

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to read work orders and document actions taken.
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures.
• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently evaluate machine condition, diagnose, disassemble/assemble, order parts, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Use parts catalogs and order parts from parts personnel.
• Document maintenance, inspections, and diagnoses on work orders.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
• Work shift work as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Ability to work shift work.
• Other duties as assigned.
