Job Description

As a Field Heavy Equipment Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the repair, maintenance, and safe operation of construction and forestry-based equipment. You will contribute directly to the productivity and success of the employer by delivering efficient service, accurate diagnostics, and professional equipment support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate equipment condition, diagnose faults, and perform repairs on heavy-duty machinery.
  • Assemble and disassemble machines; order required parts.
  • Use tools, testing equipment, and computer systems to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Document all maintenance and service work accurately on work orders.
  • Assess safety hazards and ensure all work is performed to accepted standards.
  • Utilize computer applications (e.g., John Deere Service Advisor) for inspections and diagnostics.
  • Use parts catalogues to identify and order replacement parts.
  • Perform road testing of equipment and verify attachment operations after servicing.
Requirements
  • Trade certification or diploma in Heavy Equipment or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and forestry equipment.
