Job summary

McElhanney is seeking Geomatics / Survey graduates or early-career professionals for an outdoor, field‑heavy role in Edmonton. You will gain hands-on experience across field and office work, partnering with experienced professionals on real projects.

The position starts around May/Summer 2026, with flexibility based on project needs and candidate availability. You will support survey equipment setup, data preparation, and field operations across municipal, transportation, utilities, and resource

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Genuine interest in field-based, hands-on work.
• Physical ability to work on active sites and lift equipment.
• Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods and travel when needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of survey equipment.
• Assist with setup and operation of survey instruments under supervision.
• Work with survey teams to prepare files, maps, and data for delivery.
• Place stakes and control points, assist with utilities identification.
• Maintain and monitor survey equipment and vehicles.
