Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Technologist to support a team delivering environmental services across sectors, with a strong focus on field work and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes monitoring, surveys, and collaboration with regulators and clients.

The position offers a flexible hybrid structure, with on-site work three days a week and fieldwork 60–70% of the time, reflecting its client-driven project portfolio and outdoor orientation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or post-secondary degree in biology, forestry, agricultural, or environmental sciences.
• 3–4 years field experience in oil and natural gas exploration or comparable development projects with environmental monitoring.
• Experience with environmental monitoring and environmental inspection.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental monitoring during construction, maintenance, and reclamation, reporting on compliance with regulations.
• Conduct biophysical field surveys per provincial protocols and wildlife surveys as required.
• Perform pre-construction surveys for nesting migratory birds and species at risk.
• Assist in developing federal, provincial and municipal regulatory permits.
• Handle data management, analysis, and report preparation.
• Adhere to health and safety and quality management protocols.
• Communicate effectively with mentors, regulators, clients, subconsultants, and contractors.
