Job summary

MA (Montreal Associates) seeks a CSA Field Engineer and QA for a contract in the Fort McMurray region. The role covers field engineering, quality surveillance and turnover documentation for in-situ energy facilities. Expect collaboration with contractors, Engineers of Record and inspection teams on a remote industrial site.

The assignment emphasizes field support, NCR/FCN/DCN management, and final turnover packages during mechanical completion and project turnover phases.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer registration in Alberta.
• Civil, structural and architectural engineering knowledge relevant to industrial construction.
• Familiarity with the Alberta Building Code and National Building Code of Canada.
• Field engineering experience, including review of drawings, specifications, shop drawings and work packages.
• Construction quality assurance experience covering Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, inspections, surveillance and NCRs.
• Ability to resolve technical and constructability issues with contractors, vendors and the Engineer of Record. Ability to work safely on a rotational remote industrial site.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site safety activities and contractor safety meetings.
• Apply project, industry and job-specific requirements to construction activities.
• Resolve field enquiries and technical issues through site investigations and discussions.
• Review shop drawings, engineering packages and work packages for errors and turnover readiness.
• Help contractors interpret drawings and specifications and support development of work packages and field-issued scopes.
• Review Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, quality procedures and contractor quality records.
• Conduct field witnessing, progressive inspections, contractor audits and quality surveillance.
• Initiate, review and close NCRs, FCNs and DCNs with technical support.
• Lead Installation Work Package, construction and final walkdowns and turnover documentation.
• Verify redline records and participate in mechanical completion and turnover to client.
