Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. in Canada seeks a Quality Manager – Field Eddy Current to lead planning, execution, and oversight of Field Eddy Current inspections. You will manage personnel, provide technical guidance, coordinate resources, ensure regulatory compliance, and be the primary contact for customers and internal partners.

The role emphasizes safe, high‑quality inspection delivery, with a focus on leadership, technical expertise in Eddy Current testing, and strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years technical Eddy Current Testing (ECT) experience.
• 5 years supervisory experience.
• University degree or higher in inspection/management.
• CGSB ECT Level 2 certification.
• Strong knowledge of Eddy Current technologies and NDE processes.
• Experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, utilities, or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience working with customers or vendors.
• Understanding of OH&S regulations and safety practices (radiation, confined space, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead full‑time inspection personnel, supervisors/leads, and contractor teams during field execution.
• Act as the lead technical resource for Eddy Current inspection issues and challenges.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of inspection technologies, techniques, and processes.
• Manage inspection equipment, parts, consumables, and prepare justification for new equipment purchases.
• Support preparation and planning for multiple inspection projects, including scheduling, procedure development, training, equipment procurement, and customer communication.
• Allocate qualified personnel and coordinate internal and subcontractor resources to meet project needs.
• Function as the Field Engineer for pre‑deployment tasks and on‑site execution.
• Prepare detailed estimates, proposal write‑ups, and compliance reviews for inspection/NDE code requirements.
