Are you a detail-oriented professional with a background in document control? We are seeking an experienced Field Document Controller to join our client’s dynamic team and be part of a leading Energy Project, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of information and documentation across their major project based in Edmonton, AB.

About the Role :

As the Field Document Controller, you'll be responsible for managing project documentation and ensuring compliance with document control procedures and standards. This significant role includes organizing, tracking, and distributing project documents, maintaining document databases, and supporting the construction, engineering, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Establish and maintain document control procedures and standards that meet project requirements and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Organize and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction, and engineers to guarantee timely and accurate documentation delivery.
  • Track document revisions and updates to ensure accurate version control and distribution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate document reviews and approvals with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure timely progress.
  • Manage document databases and repositories, facilitating document storage, retrieval, and archiving processes.
  • Generate reports and metrics to monitor document control activities and performance efficiently.

To be successful :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field
  • Proven field experience as a Document Controller or Records Manager, preferably within Oil & Gas with construction, piping, engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of document control principles, procedures, and standards.
  • Proficiency in document management software and tools (e.g., SharePoint or Documentum)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Be local to Edmonton Area or can self-accommodate
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Know this is a full-time contract onsite role, 48+ hours per week
