PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Practice Management
  • Customize program elements to meet the needs of assigned prescribing physicians;
  • Review patient status and assist the prescribing physician to complete patient enrolment, prepare payer forms to access public or private coverage by reviewing patient charts, documenting previous therapies and tests in order to complete the payer forms;
  • Identify obstacles to obtaining coverage and channel this information to the Program Manager;
  • Develop strong working relationships with physicians and physician office staff, providing additional support to ensure smooth maintenance of enrolled patients;
  • Proactively assist in resolving issues with assigned physicians;
  • Provide training to physicians and clinics on the program and new initiatives approved by the manufacturer;
  • Act as a liaison and provide ongoing feedback to the Program Manager based on field observations and feedback from physicians regarding quality of services, training, and other areas;
  • Complete all relevant reports (program-specific reports, expenses, etc.) as per timelines and standards.
Patient Support (Based on program design, some Field Case Managers may have limited or no patient interactions)
  • Welcome each patient to the program and capture required patient information;
  • Provide reimbursement payer guidelines to patients and physicians;
  • Coordinate patient services according to KPIs to expedite access to therapy;
  • Coordinate coverage activities between patients, physicians, and insurers;
  • Confirm reimbursement outcomes with the patient;
  • Navigate patients through financial assistance options;
  • Assist with pharmacy selection and drug delivery coordination;
  • Support therapy coordination and ongoing therapy status updates;
  • Refer clinical questions outside program materials to healthcare providers;
  • Report adverse events following SOPs;
  • Assist in training new FCMs;
  • Support peers through communication;
  • Maintain positive relationships with the Patient Support Program team;
  • Provide timely patient and clinic information as needed;
  • Participate in scheduled physician meetings with the pharmaceutical team;
  • Attend CME events and report new activities;
  • Present to physicians in collaboration with pharmaceutical reps.
Other
  • Maintain communication with the Program Manager, physicians, staff, and others as required;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • May be on standby / on-call as needed.
REQUIREMENTS :
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related, or a nursing diploma;
  • Minimum five years in healthcare, pharma, insurance, or related experience;
  • Licensed Nurse (RN or RPN / LPN) with active registration; case management experience preferred;
  • At least three years nursing experience in a clinical setting;
  • Ability to travel within territory, some overnight;
  • Experience in therapeutic areas is an asset;
  • Background in pharma sales / marketing is an asset;
  • Knowledge of reimbursement systems and processes;
  • Experience with reimbursement navigation and appeals;
  • Strong analytical skills, interpretative of regulations;
  • Fluency in French and / or English depending on location.
