Job summary

Acuren is seeking an entry-level Reliability Engineer in Training to support the Advanced Diagnostics team. This role offers hands-on growth, with opportunities to learn from senior SMEs and reliability engineers on dynamic assets.

Based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the position involves field work at client sites and travel about 50% of the time, with safety and quality at the forefront of daily activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience with industrial equipment and willingness to perform hands-on field work.
• Open to obtaining industry certifications listed (Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Ultrasound Testing, Motor Testing, Oil Sampling and Analysis, Reliability Professional Certification).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to travel ~50% and meet Canadian driver’s license requirements.
• Must meet eligibility for CUSMA TN-1 visa for employment in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collect condition-monitoring data on rotating equipment, structures, and piping.
• Analyze and interpret diagnostic data using specialized tools and software.
• Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Support preventive maintenance through testing, reporting, and client recommendations.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to staff and customers.
• Travel to customer sites from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia base.
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards during field work.
• Work overtime, weekends, and extended travel when required.
