Job summary

Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is seeking an Assistant Foreman for the Grande Prairie Central District to lead a field team of ~20. The role focuses on safe, efficient management of operating and capital costs while maximizing production.

You will ensure regulatory compliance and communicate with a broad range of stakeholders. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in field roles, with a Production Field Operations Certificate or engineering/tech credentials.

Qualifications

  • Ten+ years of field experience in operational, maintenance or technical roles.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Proven project management and communication skills.
  • Engineering degree/tech diploma or journeyman certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field staff with on-site planning and day-to-day direction.
  • Maintain runtime performance of wellhead to sales > 97%.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual operating budgets and cost control.
  • Manage staff performance and time in the field (>60%).
  • Foster effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Make your mark while you grow your career! Are you a highly motivated self‑starter with a demonstrated record of accomplishment in executing high quality work? If so, Canadian Natural has an exciting opportunity waiting for you in Grande Prairie Central District. As an Assistant Foreman, you will be responsible for safely leading a field team of ~20 people to effectively and efficiently manage operating and capital costs while maximizing current production of 32,000 Boe/dwhile supporting significant multi‑year area development. You will be in a pivotal position to deliver on regulatory requirements and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide leadership, knowledge and direction to field staff towards Canadian Natural's Safety Management Systems
  • Maximize safe well production and facility throughput by working closely with the Production Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, SCC Coordinator, Technical and Administration Teams to maintain runtime performance of > 97% from wellhead to sales
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual operating budgets while maintaining cost control for your area
  • Provide leadership and supervision to field staff through on-site work planning and day-to-day direction while managing staff performance, spending >60% of time in the field
  • Maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
What You Bring To The Role
  • 10+ years of field experience in an operational, maintenance or technical role
  • A Production Field Operations Certificate is required
  • Working knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations
  • Proven team leadership experience in a supervisory or mentorship capacity with strong communication skills (proven project management skills in planning, preparations and execution)
  • Graduate with Engineering Degree, Technology Diploma or Journeyman certification is preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of oil and gas economics
