Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
  • Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, and as directed by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation standards of practice.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
  • Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
  • Communicate and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments, to meet timelines for appointments and treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
  • Participate regularly in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
  • Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
  • Collaborate within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of applicable tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial college of nurses.
  • Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
  • Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Follow all health and safety standards as per provincial health and safety regulations.
  • Complete ongoing and annual education and training within the specified timeframes.
  • Perform other related duties as required by Innomar.
  • May be required to be on standby or on call to meet service needs.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • One year of IV initiation experience preferred.
  • Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification required.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare setting preferred.
  • ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and central venous lines/port experience are assets.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other relevant computer programs.
  • Access to reliable internet connection.
  • Knowledge of cell phone usage for appointments and communication, and familiarity with fax machines.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within designated areas.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
  • Business and financial acumen is an asset.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective presentation skills and self-directed work approach.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.

The successful candidate may have daily contact with English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
