Job summary

Spin Master in Ontario is seeking an Assistant Editor to support the editorial team by maintaining an efficient pipeline and assisting the Picture Editor with daily duties.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Avid Media Composer, strong organization, and excellent communication. This is a mandatory hybrid role with 3–4 days in the office weekly, offering growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Assistant Editor – Spin Master

Supporting the editorial team by maintaining an efficient editorial pipeline and assisting the Picture Editor with daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Picture Editor in their daily duties.
• Keep the Avid project organized.
• Manage and process storyboards, audio, and animation files.
• Log and bin all audio records: scratch dialogue, production recording sessions, and ADR Turnovers for the sound department, digital intermediate, and music departments.
• Ingest assets from the sound and music departments, keeping them organized.
• Organize sound effects and music libraries.
• Prepare outputs for screenings and QC of outputs.

Skills & Experience

• 3–5 years of experience with Avid Media Composer.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, can‑do attitude while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
• Proactive, flexible, and motivated to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Quick and creative thinker with strong problem‑solving abilities.

Work Environment

Mandatory hybrid role with a minimum of 3–4 days in the office each week, depending on production stage.

Compensation

Pay range for Ontario: $70,000 to $90,000 per annum. Final offer will depend on experience, education, and other factors.
